First released in 2015, this slightly updated version of Up My Street is printed in stronger print colours and on thicker card, with a new front and back cover.

Louise's first ever book, Up My Street showcases those wonderful independent shops disappearing from the British high street. Highly influenced by Eric Ravilious' High Street and Nathalie Parain's Faite Votre Marche, Louise takes the baton for illustrating beautiful shops and updates the genre for the 21st Century. One one side of the book, the shop fronts are proudly displayed and on the reverse you can see the shops counter, complete with a rhyming couplet about each shop.

Louise took inspiration from shops in small towns on the west coast of Scotland (where she visited her Granny a lot) and places in Yorkshire where she lived.

Keeping it local, Design For Today published this using a small print co-op in Bethnal Green, lithographing in three pure spot pantones on heavy 350gsm uncoated stock. It’s a long 10 panel concertina that stretches out to over 1.35 metres!

Shortlisted for the AOI Illustration Awards in 2016.
