Limited Edition Safomasi x The Printed Peanut

A very special collaboration, this baby quilt explores British and Indian farm life with an illustrated scene by Safomasi on one side and repeat pattern by me on the other.

Inspired by the small holdings and farmsteads surrounding my home in Yorkshire, I made my design using paper-cut outs that I painted with gauche and arranged in a fun and playful way. I have included traditional British farm animals such as chickens, goats, cats, dogs and cows as well as farm machinery (included especially for my tractor obsessed son!) Young children will love seeing all the things that they can spot in the design.

On the other side, Safomasi's placement print was illustrated by Sarah, inspired by Maninder's village in Haryana, a couple of hours north of Delhi. Set amongst fields of mustard, sugar cane and wheat encircled by tree-lined roads, the hand drawn design captures Indian farm life with buffaloes, 'upla' drying in the sun and bicycles laden with harvest. It forms the perfect backdrop and layout to encourage imaginative play with farm toys

The limited edition Farm Life Baby Quilt is handmade in small batches by artisans in India. Hand screen printed onto cotton in vivid shades of mustard yellow, hot orange and rust brown, making it perfectly gender neutral. A lovely gift for a new baby, it can be used as a blanket, playmat or bedding. Packaged in a special cotton bag it makes a beautiful heirloom piece that will be treasured and passed on for many years.

91 x 127 cm (36 x 50 in). Hand screen printed and hand quilted cotton quilt.

Reversible with Safomasi's placement print on one side and The Printed Peanut's print on the other. Yellow dot printed edging. Packed in a cotton bag, perfect for gifting.

Colours are represented as accurately as possible but may vary slightly from what is seen on screen.
